Take 1 (or 2 depending on how many layers you want) box of yellow cake mix (you NEED the kind that has pudding in it). Make the mix as the box directs, but mix in 1 tsp of Rum extract. Pour batter into 2 8in rounds and bake according to box directions. Let the cakes cool completely.

Mix together the cake mix, 1/2 cup dark rum, eggs, 1/2 cup water, oil, and vanilla pudding mix. Pour batter over the nuts in the pan. Step 3 Bake for 1 hour.

Step 3: Make the Vanilla Cake Batter. In a separate large bowl, mix butter, oil, and sugar together until combined. Mix in eggs and egg whites, one at a time, until the mixture becomes very light and fluffy. You want to incorporate a lot of air at this point.
